Youth Change Makers

January 26th, 2009 by admin

A bunch of youth on a road-trip to discover changemakers across India, bringing back stories of inspiration, and doing their bit to spread the change.

All are in there early 20’s, just out of college and they believe that they are here to create a few dents in the universe. If you think likewise, hop on. Let’s go change the world.

Grassroutes Fellowship Program sponsors teams of adventurous, passionate young people on their road-trips to discover change-makers at the grassroots and understand first-hand the problems that plague our nation. From their journeys, these social journalists will bring back stories of ideas, inspiration and change, that we believe, will get the rest of us thinking of ways in which we can do our bit.

Meet the Hungry Fools Team

“We love to talk about social causes and quote statistics, however, with Grassroutes, it’ll be our one chance to actually be amidst the action, give our input and help highlight (and take part in) the work the NGOs are doing and the on ground situation to millions using social media and our citizen-journalistic fire. Our team loves getting exposed to different situations. Just a Road trip, though exciting, is merely about fun. With Grassroutes, we’re getting an objective. We’re getting a chance to explore our skills and letting it affect something we care about in a positive manner. Being agents of change is an exciting yet serious responsibility. All of us being students have pretty much agreed on the point that life inside a classroom is going to get us killed soon. What Grassroutes is doing then, is letting us put our skills, be it journalistic, entrepreneurial, activistic or creative, to a test. It’s also giving us a story to narrate to the people and help us stand out from the rest of the crowd.”
